I just confirmed with multiple active government sources that they also got the alert from the DoD alert system, via Alexandria Phone number, 703 454 0563, calling and warning for everyone to get a flashlight, and to expect potential power outages from a solar flare.

The question right now is when and where will the impact be felt because it looks very much like it will hit, but we are not sure at this moment how much damage will be done by the Time it is over. NOAA is of course only concerned about the American borders, but this event has global reach and global implications especially when we could see a global EMP event worse than the 1859 Carrington Event. REPORT: The U.S. government has issued its first geomagnetic storm watch in ~20 years, warning Americans of solar activity that could knock out communications and GPS systems. According to NOAA, the power grid is at risk and warns Americans of "possible widespread voltage control problems."

The storm is expected to hit Earth on Friday and go through Saturday. The storm is caused by "a large sunspot cluster has produced several moderate to strong solar flares." (NOAA)

The sunspot is about 16x the diameter of Earth.

We are one measure away from the Extreme side of the scale and perhaps we are even already there, but that would be too much scary information for the masses to handle. But the alerts are there and the data in these real Time monitoring devices cannot be altered to suit their needs as they do when it comes to other types of data that can be easily manipulated and massaged, such as Covid or Bird Flu infection rates.

We end here with a warning from the last Time something on such a large scale was last seen in our skies which was back in 1859 and has been named the Carrington Event after the British astronomer who first observed and recorded the event.

What if the Carrington Event, the largest solar storm ever recorded, happened today?

In 1859, British astronomer Richard Carrington saw a blast of white light on the surface of the sun. This was the Carrington Event, as scientists now call it, and it is the largest recorded solar storm ever recorded. It was linked with extraordinary auroras — the Northern and Southern Lights — that were visible in the sky near both the poles and the equator, everywhere from Canada to Australia. The enormous solar outburst also caused electrical disruptions from Paris to Boston. 

Sparks flew from telegraph machines in Paris, according to a report in the The Illustrated London News dated Sept. 24, 1859, and telegraph operator Frederick Royce in Washington, D.C. reported receiving "a very severe electric shock, which stunned me for an instant," The New York Times reported on Sept. 5, 1859. "An old man who was sitting facing me, and but a few feet distant, said that he saw a spark of fire jump from my forehead."

All in all, the Carrington Event affected almost half of the telegraphic stations in the United States, according to the 2016 study.

Solar flares, the largest explosive events in the solar system, are intense eruptions of plasma and radiation associated with sunspots, according to NASA. The sun unleashes solar flares when magnetic energy that builds up on our star gets suddenly released, Hugh Hudson, a solar physicist at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, wrote in a 2021 study in the journal Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics. 

Solar flares can also trigger intense electrical currents in the magnetosphere, according to NOAA. These currents may in turn generate magnetic disturbances in the ground on Earth, which can produce electrical currents in long stretches of electrically conductive material, such as power lines, telecommunication cables and pipelines. 

Geomagnetic storms have the potential to wreak havoc on Earth. In 1989, a geomagnetic storm blacked out the entire Canadian province of Quebec in 90 seconds, leaving 6 million customers in the dark for nine hours, according to NASA. It also damaged transformers as far away as New Jersey—including one at a nuclear power plant—and nearly took down U.S. power grids from the Eastern Seaboard to the Pacific Northwest.

For example, a 2013 study from British insurance giant Lloyd's of London estimated that electrical outages from a Carrington-level event might lead to up to $2.6 trillion in lost revenue for the North American power industry alone. The study also found global blackouts up to years long might occur because such an event could simultaneously damage multiple extra-high-voltage transformers that are difficult to replace.

This could in turn result in major disruptions to financial markets, banking, telecommunications, business transactions, emergency and hospital services, the pumping of water and fuel and food transport.

Is America and the rest of the world prepared for candle light dinners and no TikTok? Answer, highly unlikely we could survive such a scenario when the average attention span of the TikTok generation is hovering near 5-8 seconds long. The long and short term affect of the Solar Flares is that the damage could last for days to years. When we live in a Just in Time supply and demand logistics system, any disruptions are highly impactful to citizens and businesses alike. We are not prepared mentally or physically.

Researchers in Canada surveyed 2,000 participants and studied the brain activity of 112 others using electroencephalograms (EEGs). Microsoft found that since the year 2000 (or about when the mobile revolution began) the average attention span dropped from 12 seconds to eight seconds.

The survey also confirmed generational differences for mobile use; for example, 77% of people aged 18 to 24 responded “yes” when asked, “When nothing is occupying my attention, the first thing I do is reach for my phone,” compared with only 10% of those over the age of 65.

SOLAR STORMS PRESENT A CLEAR DANGER TO ASTRONAUTS AND CAN DAMAGE SATELLITES

Solar storms, or solar activity, can be divided into four main components that can have impacts on Earth:  

Solar flares: A large explosion in the sun's atmosphere. These flares are made of photons that travel out directly from the flare site. Solar flares impact Earth only when they occur on the side of the sun facing Earth.  

Coronal Mass Ejections (CME's): Large clouds of plasma and magnetic field that erupt from the sun. These clouds can erupt in any direction, and then continue on in that direction, plowing through solar wind. These clouds only cause impacts to Earth when they're aimed at Earth. 

High-speed solar wind streams: These come from coronal holes on the sun, which form anywhere on the sun and usually only when they are closer to the solar equator do the winds impact Earth. 

Solar energetic particles: High-energy charged particles thought to be released primarily by shocks formed at the front of coronal mass ejections and solar flares. When a CME cloud plows through solar wind, solar energetic particles can be produced and because they are charged, they follow the magnetic field lines between the Sun and Earth. Only charged particles that follow magnetic field lines that intersect Earth will have an impact.

This Geomagnetic Storm is setting new records. We are now officially at level G5 just moments ago as per NOAA. The rating system does not go beyond that level of G5. At that level please read carefully “Possible transformer damage” means that when the Grid Transformers are compromised that means the entire grid is at risk.
