When Man becomes a Slave to his Toys and his Desires

Brave New World was a dystopian novel from 1956 predicting our collective futures and it seems all the more relevant today

When the author, Aldous Huxley reads from his novel in this old radio broadcast he feels like he guessed too far ahead of his time. In hindsight, he should have said less than 60 years not 600 years into the future would be when his dystopian vision would start to come true.

A quarter of a century has passed since the book was published. In that time, our world has taken so many steps in the wrong direction, that if I were writing today, I would date my story not 600 years in the future, but at the most 200 The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance.

- Aldous Huxley

This book and the films that have been made are all worth watching and reading, because they show us like the book 1984, where we are headed as a work of fiction, but in the upside down world we live in today, whatever was seen as fictional soon becomes our factual reality.

“You can't make tragedies without social instability. The world's stable now. People are happy; they get what they want, and they never want what they can't get. They're well off; they're safe; they're never ill; they're not afraid of death; they're blissfully ignorant of passion and old age; they're plagued with no mothers or fathers; they've got no wives, or children, or lovers to feel strongly about; they're so conditioned that they practically can't help behaving as they ought to behave.”

When Man becomes a Slave to his Toys and his Desires, we have reached that stage when “You Will Own Nothing, and You will Be Happy” of WEF fame. Are our modern day technologies making us more free or enslaving us more to our Toys and Desires?

Mr. Aldous Huxley's Brave New World is a fantastic parable about the dehumanization of human beings. In the negative Utopia described in my story, man has been subordinated to his own inventions, science, technology, social organization, these things have ceased to serve man. They have become his masters.

Are we so obsessed with Convenience now that having Children is now Inconvenient? Is the Brave New World way of manufactured birthing our collective Futures? Or is that just were a small group of misguided Leftists radicals are taking themselves and the rest of society in their misguided pursuit of Freedom and Convenience?

Bokanovsky's Process is a fictional process of human cloning within the world showed in Aldous Huxley's novel Brave New World. The process is applied to fertilized human eggs in vitro, causing them to split into identical genetic copies of the original.

Likewise, what is the process of the hatchery in Brave New World? The Hatchery in Huxley's Brave New World is the place where human reproduction--manufacturing, rather--occurs in test tubes and incubators. It is within these machines that embryos are given certain hormones and chemicals that place them within a certain category of the society's caste system.

Why stop at the birthing aka manufacturing process? Brave New World showed us that when these ideas are unleashed onto society they ultimately want to control all aspects of our lives not just sexual reproduction and birthing rights.

Controlling all aspects of the manufactured men and women was the natural result of such an unnatural ideology. Such Brave New Worlds sounds very much like our current Pfizer owned and controlled media landscape.

While in a democratic society, the free circulation of new ideas and theories is considered a social good, in Brave New World's totalitarian society, subversive ideas that challenge the status quo are dangerous to social stability and could undermine or threaten those in power. Censorship is an important tool for totalitarian governments to suppress ideas that challenge the absolute authority of those in power.

Now here is the additional challenge. Once you have come to the realization that you are heading in the wrong direction, how many of us can course correct and get back to the right direction individually and then collectively? That course correction starts with You first realizing something is wrong.

The Throw Away Mentality has now extended to Children as well as Toys.

The most ingenious development of all sleep teaching is given to all our children as they grow to maturity, a little voice murmurs slogans in their ear all night long while they sleep. Of course, it's useless for teaching, but as a method for giving posthypnotic suggestions. It is invaluable.

It's what conditions our minds to love our future role in life. Now boys are telling me some of the lessons we've all learned through sleep teaching a gram is better than a damn school example.

We have learned to take a gram of Soma whenever we feel out of sorts; euphoric. narcotic. pleasantly hallucinant. It transports our minds into a beautiful sleep filled with wonderful images. It gives her a Soma holiday, thus preventing unnecessary impulses such as anger, jealousy, envy, anxiety.

Next, Ending is better than Mending.

It's better to throw away something than to repair it. New clothing, new possessions, keep our factories humming and make us happier.

Next, I'm glad I'm not a gamma. Ah, yes, we're all taught in our sleep to enjoy our own caste, whatever it may be. gammas are taught to think I'm glad I'm not an epsilon beta has learned to be glad they're not deltas or gammas.

And glad they're not alphas because we alphas sometimes have to use our minds. And that's very painful.

The choice was ours to make, what made us happy and what made us free and what did we do when we realized we were making a mistake?

Brave New World is a study of the future as it may be unless, We are extremely careful. It depicts a society in which man has replaced nature by science, morality by drugs, individuality by total conformity. It is a hideous prospect. Yet we seem determined to follow this path of self destruction. But Brave New World need not be our future. The choice after all, is always in our own hands.

Take Care of Yourself. Remember on planes they always tell you put the mask on first, before helping others. Therefore, Take Care of Yourself First and then do what is in your control, and then leave the rest to the universe to solve.
