The Twitter Board "Unanimously Approves" the offer and makes the firm Private
Now as a Private Firm there are many of advantages. One of the biggest ones is that Elon and crew will not have to worry about Shareholders and their thoughts, especially the shadow banning council. Long live Freedom of Speech.
Under the terms of the deal, shareholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter stock they own, matching Musk’s original offer and marking a 38% premium over the stock price the day before Musk revealed his stake in the company.
The deal comes after Musk revealed last week he had lined up $46.5 billion in financing to acquire the company, an apparent turning point that forced Twitter’s board to seriously consider the deal. The board met Sunday to evaluate Musk’s offer.
“The Twitter Board conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive process to assess Elon’s proposal with a deliberate focus on value, certainty, and financing,” Twitter independent board chair Bret Taylor said in a statement, calling the deal ” the best path forward for Twitter’s stockholders.”
Twitter stock was up nearly 6% following the announcement of the deal, hovering around $51.84, just shy of the offer price.

The traffic on Twitter will likely see an appropriate increase if Elon lives up to his vow to promote Twitter as a truly free speech platform.

One test of Elon and his Free Speech claim would be to test that position and reinstate accounts that were banned on grounds of censorship such as Alex Jones.
Why, Alex Jones in particular? Because Alex if you have not heard was successfully sued by the Sandy Hook folks when he claimed that it was a staged Hoax and is now seeking Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection to keep his entire Infowars operation afloat.
AUSTIN, Texas -- Alex Jones' company Infowars has filed for bankruptcy protection after the conspiracy theorist lost defamation lawsuits over his comments that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was a hoax.
Jones filed for Chapter 11 protection in Texas and told his listeners Monday he was “totally maxed out” financially. He urged his audience to contribute money or buy products off his Infowars website.
Attorneys for Sandy Hook families have accused Jones of trying to hide millions of dollars in assets as juries later this year are set to determine how much he should pay in damages.
